This event combines what we both do best – trains and walking. You will walk from the Forest Centre to Millbrook Station from where you’ll catch the train to Lidlington. Being in Lidlington gives us a chance to walk up to Folly Wood, a new plantation created in 2011/12, that hangs on the Greensand Ridge and gives fantastic views to wards Bedford in the north and Cranfield in the west.
En route for the Forest Centre, you will pass through another of the Marston Vale Trust’s new woodlands – Granary Wood and use a wonderful new bridleway that connects Granary Wood with the south-east corner of the Millennium Country Park, next to Millbrook Station.
The event will take place on Saturday 13th July, starting at the Forest Centre at 1:30pm. All you’ll need is some good walking boots (it will get steep in some places) and £2.20 for the train ticket. Oh, and to contact the Forest Centre in advance to book your place.
