Its that time of year again. The Bedfordshire Walking Festival returns for another year, and is a great way of getting out and about in the countryside of Bedfordshire.
As is now the custom, ourselves and the Bedford to Bletchley Rail Users Association are hosting and running some of the walks taking place. These are:
- Saturday 6th September. A Railway Ramble between Lidlington and Ridgmont. It starts at 1:25pm, perfectly timed for the train, with the start point at Lidlington Station. Its a 3 mile ramble, and while there is no charge we suggest a £3 donation to cover the costs of the refreshments you’ll get at Ridgmont Station.
- Wednesday 10th September. A Walk on the Wild Side starting at Ridgmont station at 1:25pm. Again, its perfectly timed for the train , and is a great chance to see some of the wildlife around the station.
- Saturday 13th September. The Three Villages Walk starts at Ridgmont station at 10:30am. This is a great chance to explore the 3 villages of Ridgmont, Lidlington, and Brogborough on an energetic walk.
There are also loads of other walks taking place across the week, many of which you can use our line to get to. Just check out the website for all the info.
If you plan to go on one of our walks, or are just planning a day out, why not stop off at the Ridgmont Station Heritage Centre and Tea Rooms? We would be very happy to welcome you. The Tea Rooms are getting extremely popular, so we highly recommend booking your table in advance of your stay. Just call Pauline on 01525 287120.
