Ghost Train 2011Hi Guys. We don’t like delivering bad news, but unfortunately on occasions we have to do so, and this time is one of them.

As you know from our previous post, London Midland have been having major problems with train crew recently. As a result of this, there is no guaruntee that the services planned for the Ghost Train will run. This is somewhat of a unique situation, so rather than say we will run the train only for it to be cancelled the day before the event, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel the Ghost Train this year.

This is a very popular annual event, so this is not a decision that we have liked taking. But with the situation how it is we feel that it is best to cancel now rather than run a major risk of the trains not running. We are very sorry for this, but we feel that it is the best considering the circumstances.

On a more positive note, however, we are still planning to run the Santa Special this year – always a popular event. More details will be posted up here when we know more.

    I wish I had found this article before!!! I just went by the Info published in a local booklet, also tried to ring the number provided to get more info and confirmation of the event but went straight into answering machine!!! Staff at Bedford station were not aware of ant ghost trains either still, full of hope we boarded the 18:25 train …. It was a ghosts train in a way as it was almost totally empty!!! We only went as far as Stewarby and then decided to go back only we spent more than 30mn in the cold waiting for the train back to Bedford.. What a disappointment and lots of money wasted as well between car park and train tickets!!! Can I have a refund???

      Hi Dany. Really sorry to hear about your trip. We tried to get out as much information as we could beforehand, so we’re really sorry to hear about this. For the refund, i will have to check. Give us a couple of days and we’ll email you.
