We come bearing great news! Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity has received confirmation of funding from the Department of Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs totalling a princely sum of £139,000 going towards the Ridgmont Station Project. This funding has come from its Rural Development Programme.
But what does this mean, i hear you ask. Well, together with the funding from Wixamtree Trust, WREN, and the countless other funding partners, this means that all the funding is in place to re-open Ridgmont Station. This will be done by Summer 2013. How awesome is that?!?
Now that we’re cracking on with the building work, here’s where we need your help. Delivering the heritage centre, cafe, meeting room, and offices won’t be easy. Volunteers are needed to man the heritage centre, which needs to be open for a set number of days per year as a condition of the funding. To register your interest, simply fill out the form below – all offers are greatly received.
We would also appreciate any exhibits for the exhibition centre – either by loan or donation – and they would be extremely welcome. Needless to say we are ecstatic at this news, so check back soon for more updates on the works.
