Campbell ParkOk, not quite madness. But with it being half term week there is a heck of a lot on across the line. And here is the lowdown on the lot of it.

We should start by promoting our own event, Halloween at Ridgmont Station Building on Thursday 31st October. There will be lots of spooky fun, and we have posted on this before. So check it out and come and see us.

Also, don’t forget London Midland’s Great Escape offer is on all week. This gives you a great chance to explore their network, so check out this great offer.

On Monday, our friends at the Forest of Marston Vale are having their very own Apple Day. There will be lots of apple themed crafts as well as some apple tasting. Which apple variety will you like best? Sessions run from 10am, and must be pre-booked. The cost is £2.50 per child per session. The nearest station is Millbrook, which is a cycle ride or walk away.

Starting on Monday and running until Thursday are a couple of events at Frosts Garden Centre in Woburn Sands. Kids can either enjoy the Halloween Circus or Pumpkin Scooping. They cost £5.99 and £4.99 per person respectively, and run at various times. The nearest station is Woburn Sands, just a short walk away.

On Wednesday Bletchley Park are running their popular Family Fun Wednesdays. The whole family can enjoy special activities including craft and spy workshops, children’s guided tours, trails, quizzes and handling collections. Normal admission charges apply. Bletchley Park is just a short walk from Bletchley station.

thecentre:MK, meanwhile, sees the return of The Big Draw Event. As before, there is a day of fabulous free drawing activities, to inspire the whole family. It takes place in Middleton Hall and is free to attend. The nearest station is Milton Keynes Central, a cycle or bus ride away.

The Higgins in Bedford is running A Date in Your Diary event. Diaries can be important records of what life was like in the past. Start your own by making a book in which to record your day. It’s a drop in session between 11am and 3pm, costing £2 per child. The closest station to The Higgins is Bedford St Johns, which is within walking distance.

The Parks Trust kick off Thursday with their Tricks and Treats event. Alongside various other activities if you bring your own pumpkin you can get involved in some pumpkin carving using their templates or be as creative as you want! The event starts at 10am and costs £3 per child. The event is taking place at Shenley Wood, which is a bus or cycle ride from Milton Keynes Central.

There is also family fun to be had at Halloween at the Hub in Milton Keynes. A free event, The Hub will come alive with the sights and sounds of Halloween as ghouls, zombies, hissing bats and even flame throwers pack into the piazza for the evening. Street performers will entertain the crowds while ‘Flambe Circus’ will light up the night sky as these masterful fire artistes keep the zombies at bay as flames and sparks shoot into the darkness. The fun starts at 4:30pm. The Hub is a bus or cycle ride from Milton Keynes Central.

Friday starts again at the Forest of Marston Vale, who are running a Snakes and Adders event. Make your own Snakes and Adders board game and learn a bit about one of our most misunderstood but most exciting animals. Sessions run from 10am, and must be pre-booked. The cost is £2.50 per child per session. The nearest station is Millbrook, which is a cycle ride or walk away.

The Higgins in Bedford is celebrating The Big Draw with The Incredible Ideas Generator. Use your imagination to help Professor Crackpot invent designs for the future by fusing objects from the past. It’s a drop in session between 11am and 4pm, costing £2 per participant. The closest station to The Higgins is Bedford St Johns, which is within walking distance.
