Welcome to the Marston Vale Community Rail Partnership!

Boarding at BedfordWelcome to the website of the Marston Vale Community Rail Partnership, the home of the Marston Vale Line on the internet!

The Marston Vale railway is a small rural railway running through the heart of the beautiful Marston Vale countryside between Bedford in Bedfordshire, and Bletchley in Buckinghamshire. As well as being the main public transport link in the area, the hourly train service provides access to jobs, schools, and leisure facilities in the Marston Vale.

On this website, you can find out about the rail service, buy tickets, and find out what to do in the countryside and in the town, among other things! You can also discover a little about the Marston Vale Community Rail Partnership (that's us). We hope you have a pleasant visit, and look forward to seeing you on board soon!

Next Major Event - Bedford River Festival (17th and 18th July)

Keep up to date with Marston Vale Community Rail Partnership events that you can travel to by train by signing up to our e-bulletin. Simply e-mail us on to sign up!

Bedford River FestivalYes, its back. The bi-annual Bedford River Festival will be held once again on the banks of the Great Ouse, just a short walk from both Bedford and Bedford St Johns stations! Bedford's River Festival features a colourful carnival parade, stalls, fireworks and riotous Dragonboat races on the River Great Ouse. Anyone can take part, but be prepared to get wet!

Best of all, we will be operating a Special Saturday Evening and Sunday Train Service over that weekend. This includes a special Saturday night Fireworks Flyer departing from Bedford at 23:10 and Bedford St Johns at 23:13, calling at all stations. A special hourly service will also run, with the first departure leaving Bletchley at 11:00 calling at all stations (an hour later from Bedford), and the final train leaving Bedford at 20:00 (leaving Bletchley an hour earlier).

You can download the timetable of the Sunday service by clicking here. These services will also show up on the National Rail Enquiries website (www.nationalrail.co.uk).

Of course, you can use our special services for other things too! Why not take the opportunity to enjoy a Sunday stroll, or pay a visit to the Forest of Marston Vale?

Travelling with the family? Ask for a Groupsave ticket when you board the train.
