Millbrook - The Marston Vale Line's first adopted station?
Millbrook station could be the
Marston Vale Line's first adopted station following a successful public meeting
at the Forest Centre on Wednesday 24th September.
The meeting was well attended, with Stephen Sleight, the Community
Rail Officer for the Marston Vale Line, gave an informative
presentation to rail users, Forest Centre Volunteers, and members of
the general public about how Station Adoption works. The meeting
then went on to discuss how the idea could be applied to Millbrook
station, with all concluding that adopting Millbrook station would
be an excellent idea.
The meeting decided that another follow-up public meeting should be
held to form a station adoption group, and to raise more awareness
locally. This meeting is planned for Tuesday 4th November, starting
at 7pm in Millbrook Village Hall.
Stephen Sleight, Community Rail Officer for the Marston Vale Line,
said "I am extremely pleased that the meeting was so well attended,
and that all present were very positive about adopting Millbrook
station. We already have some willing volunteers, and i hope our
next meeting will be just as successful!"
