Buses

Bus in Woburn SandsAlthough the Marston Vale Line serves a largely rural area, a surprisingly high number of bus services run either to or near to our stations. These bus services range from infrequent interurban services, to high frequency town bus services.

Virtually all of our stations are within 15 minutes walk of a local bus service. The best way to find out what bus you need is to try out the journey planners (below), which will plan your public transport journey for you from start to finish. This page also has details of PlusBus.

Journey Planners

Using the below journey planners, you can plan a bus journey between any UK postcode and our stations. If you want to plan a journey to our stations, use the top journey planner. If you want to plan a journey from one of our stations, use the bottom journey planner.

PlusBus

PlusBus LogoPlusBus is the nationwide scheme that aims to improve the interchange between trains and buses by offering integrated ticketing within a certain area. For a small add-on to your normal train fare, you are entitled to unlimited bus travel on almost any bus in a specific area (subject to some restrictions) for the period of that ticket. You are not restricted to buses that run from the stations.

The Marston Vale Line is covered by two PlusBus schemes. The Milton Keynes PlusBus scheme is available for all rail journeys via Bletchley, and is an excellent way of exploring the city of Milton Keynes. The Bedford PlusBus scheme is available for all rail journeys via Bedford and Bedford St Johns. The below tables gives information on pricing, and you can download zonal maps by following the links below.

Remember that many other areas of the country are covered by PlusBus. If you are travelling to a station in a major urban area (London excepted), then ask for a PlusBus add-on when buying your ticket so you can explore the area by bus.
