Walking

Walking from the trainMany of the sights, facilities, and employment areas in the Marston Vale are within a reasonable walking distance of one of our stations. With an extensive network of public highways, walkways, footpaths and bridlepaths throughout the Marston Vale, you may find it surprising as to how easy it is to access many facilities using your own two feet.

We are hoping to publish our own maps soon, showing walking routes to and from each station. In the meantime, most online maps, such as Google Maps and Yell.com, show public highways, most of which have walking routes along them.

Many of our stations are served by roads which have no footway to the side of them. Whenever possible, we would recommend that you use a footpath or bridleway which leads to your destination instead. Where this is not possible, we would recommend the following for a safe journey:

  • Always walk on the right hand side of the road, facing oncoming traffic

  • If there is a small grass verge where it is possible to walk, then please do so

  • Wear a high visibility jacket where possible
