This is a little bit of a quickie this one, but as promised in this weeks Something for the Week, some more information has come out on the Bedford Festival of Music, Speech, and Drama, starting in Bedford tomorrow. It also lasts all week (well, until next Saturday), so even if you can’t get to an event tomorrow you still have plenty of time.
The Festival is a showcase for the wealth of talent in the amateur performing arts in Bedfordshire. Rather than being stuff to listen to, its more interactive than that. A range of classes for all ages cover most musical genres including classical, rock, pop, jazz and Asian music as well as many varied speech and drama classes including verse speaking, acting, mime and improvisation. There are also have categories for school groups, Special School groups, orchestras, wind bands, junior and senior choirs and group creative performance.
There is a full programme now available on their website. Every class takes place in either the Corn Exchange, the Harpur Suite, or the Howard Room. All of these venues are within easy walking distance of Bedford and Bedford St Johns stations.
Is that everything covered? Yes…I think it is. Enjoy!
