If you like romantic fiction, come and celebrate at the Festival of Romance at the Bedford Corn Exchange. It is the UK’s only literary festival dedicated to romantic fiction, including a Romance Fair for books and gifts. Its free to enter and you can book online, and takes place between 10am and 5pm. Heading towards Millbrook now, where the Forest Centre has a perfect activity for those with green fingers. The Hedgelaying Conservation Task will get you out and about, and you will have plenty of fun whatever the weather. The task starts at 10:15am and finishes at about 4:15pm. Places need to be booked in advance, with the meeting point being the Forest Centre. The nearest station is Millbrook.
