Train Information Points

Train Information PointThis page informs you of a surprisingly little-known secret at many of our unmanned stations, the Train Information Points. These little orange boxes may appear innocuous at first, however they are the primary means by which you can be kept informed of current and planned disruptions at the stations, and can also act as a vital link in an emergency.

On each box, one of which is on each platform at our unmanned stations, there are two buttons, both of which serve different functions:

Train Information Button (Blue): This button plays a pre-recorded message, informing you of any significant delays affecting the train service, and informing you that the trains are running fine!

Emergency Button (Red): This button will put you directly through to a controller, and should only be used in case of an emergency at the station.

So, when you arrive, just push the Blue button to hear up-to-date information on train running, and if there is an emergency, use this box as your first point of call. They may be small, and seemingly insignificant, but you will no doubt find them very important!

If any of them are faulty, then en we highly recommend that you report the fault immediately.
