The very popular West Bletchley Carnival is taking place just a short walk from Bletchley station., This is a double-celebration, celebrating the Queens Diamond Jubilee, and the Carnival will be doing it in style. On Saturday, there will be a Pitstop Challenge, Live Music, Fairground, Tents, hundreds of stalls.
The fun starts at Midday with the annual parade, leaving Melrose Avenue and heading towards Rickley Park, from where the festivities continue until 5pm.
If that wasn’t enough, at the other end of the line at Bedford the International Kite Festival is taking place on the same day. As in previous Festivals, the Kite Festival will showcase Kites from the four corners of the globe. The programme throughout the weekend will feature Kites never seen before in the UK and children’s and adults workshops in the Kite Marquee. Alongside the various demonstrations in the arena will be a whole host of other attractions, food and drink, entertainment, music and kite stalls specialising in kite equipment and other accessories.
The Kite Festival will take place in Russell Park, not far from Bedford St Johns station, with the fun starting at 10am and going on until 6pm.
