As you are all no doubt aware (we’ve been banging on about it long enough), as part of the Ridgmont Station Building project the Heritage Centre is due to open in late summer and will be managed by Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity. It is likely to be open until the end of October; reopening in Easter 2014.
We are looking for any offers of help with the Heritage Centre, and we would very much welcome help from the local community for the following:
- Volunteers for the heritage centre and shop
- Volunteers for the new station garden (a Friends of Ridgmont Station group will be set up to oversee this; it is envisaged their work be similar to the successful existing groups at Millbrook and Lidlington)
- Exhibits for the heritage centre, either on a loan or donation basis; we are particularly interested in old photos of the station and surrounding area
If you can help with any of the above, then drop our Community Rail Partnership Officer a line.
