This circular walk starts from the County Bridge in Bedford and
follows the River Ouse upstream to Kempston Mill. The return
section follows the river on the opposite bank through wood and
meadowland. This is a particularly attractive walk in the
autumn.

Directions to the start point
Get off the train at Bedford St Johns station. Leave via the
Town Centre exit to the left, and walk diagonally across the car
park. Head to the left along Melbourne Street. At the end of the
road, head to the left along Kingsway. Cross at the traffic lights,
and head left along Cauldwell Street, in front of County Hall. Take
the next right onto Prebend Street. The County Bridge is ahead of
you.
