After spending ages researching this week’s events, there are virtually none on. So here goes.
On Thursday this week at the John Bunyan Museum there is a talk on the recent Redevelopment of the Higgins in Bedford by Tom Perrett, Head of Collections. It starts at 7:30pm and is free to enter. It takes place at Bunyan Meeting, which is a short walk from Bedford St Johns station.
On Saturday over at Bletchley Park there is a special event dedicated to Decoding Bletchley Park. Authors Sinclair MacKay and Elisa Segrave will talk about the research and writing of their books, The Lost World of Bletchley Park: An Illustrated History of the Wartime Codebreaking Centre and The Girl from Station X: My Mother’s Unknown Life. They will discuss the challenges they faced in decoding the once top secret world of Bletchley Park, much of which is still not fully understood. The event lasts from 2pm to 4:30pm, and tickets cost £20 per person. Bletchley Park is a short walk from Bletchley station.
Meanwhile at Campbell Park The Parks Trust are holding their Make a Difference Day. This year they will be clearing out the ponds around Campbell Park. Bring suitable clothing, wellies and gloves. Everyone is welcome to help in this national day of volunteering. Just meet the rangers at the Pavilion at 10am. It’s completely free, and Campbell Park is either a cycle or bus ride away from Milton Keynes Central.
And that’s it. A bit of a poor show this week, but half term is coming up, and we’ll have a post on that later this week.
