On Tuesday, and again on Thursday, The Place Bedford is running a show for all the family: The Three Billy Goats Gruff…and other furry tales. Theatre of Widdershins return to The Place Theatre, presenting their critically acclaimed version of The Three Billy Goats Gruff… and other furry tails featuring their beautiful hand-crafted puppets and models its sure to be a delight for all. The show starts at 4:30pm, and tickets can be bought online. The nearest station is Bedford, which is within walking and cycling distance.
On Wednesday, the big event is the Christmas Light Switch On in Bedford. As well as actually switching the lights on, there will be a festival of fire and light set to some festive music. The fun starts at 7pm and its free to attend. It takes place at The Embankment, which is within walking distance of Bedford St Johns station.
Friday sees another Learning Lunch event at the Forest Centre. This one is called Worms on Parachutes. Sarah Jane Phillips has survived more than most people could dream of going through in a lifetime, and she’s here today to tell everyone about her amazing story, featured in her published book ‘Worms on Parachutes’. It’s free to attend, and the fun starts at 11am. The Forest Centre is a pleasant walk or cycle from Millbrook station.
On Saturday the MK Dons again provide the action. This week they have what promises to be a cracking tie against the in-form Coventry City. Kick off at stadium:MK is 3pm, and tickets can be bought online. The nearest station is Fenny Stratford, which is within walking distance.
If football is not your thing, at the same time over in Bedford the Bedford Blues are at home to London Welsh. Again, tickets can be bought online for this match. Goldington Road is within walking distance of Bedford station too.
