After an enforce hiatus of one week, What’s On this Week is back and its bigger, badder, and meaner than ever. Ok, not quite that, but…oh you just want to know the events don’t you? Fine then…
On Tuesday, the Forest of Marston Vale are doing a special free walk around Bedford’s Green Gateway. The walk is a chance to explore the Gateway, see how the trees are growing, find out a little about the sites’ history and plans for the future. And its not at the Forest Centre, it starts in Wootton at 7pm. The nearest station is Kempston Hardwick, which is within walking distance of the start point, and you should get back for the last train in both directions.
Starting on Friday will be Bedford Festival Fringe. From Friday until 3rd August, a whole series of cultural events will be taking place across Bedford, including dance, music, theatre, and comedy. We’ll be posting an extra special post early next week with all the information that you need, you lucky devils!
Bedford Theatre also have a couple of productions on both on Friday and on Saturday. The Attack of the 50 Foot Woman and Boris & Sergey II: Perilous Escapade are productions for all the family, and on at times to suit our trains – how nice of them. Tickets can be booked online, and the theatre is within walking distance of Bedford station.
Saturday also sees the Folly Express, that we promoted previously on the website. If you haven’t booked your place, do so now!
Over in Milton Keynes, The Parks Trust are running a Wicked Water Fun Day at Caldecotte Lake. Come along and try some water related activities like pond dipping, fishing, canoeing and rowing. Its free and starts at 11am, and whats more Caldecotte Lake is just a short distance from Bow Brickhill station.
If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, why not try out a new sport? Head over to thecentre:MK for their Centre Games, taking place all day in Middleton Hall. From golf to gymnastics and fencing to rowing, cycling and tennis, visit Middleton Hall to watch demonstrations throughout the day, try out a sport and talk to the experts. The nearest station is Milton Keynes Central, a bus ride away.
