Discover the story of the restoration of the Heritage Centre, those who lived & worked there, the history of the Marston Vale Railway Line and an insight into Railway 200, celebrating 200 years of the modern railway.
Guided tours of the Heritage Centre provided by the Friends of Ridgmont Station. No need to book. Free entry!
The Marston Vale Line was engineered by Robert Stephenson and opened in 1846; the first to reach Bedford and for much of its life serviced the vast brickworks in the area. It is now a thriving Community Rail Line at the heart of the East – West Rail Scheme to reconnect Oxford back to Cambridge.
Enjoy breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea in the Heritage Centre Vintage Tea Room (the former Ladies Waiting Room) during your visit. Outside dining is available in the Courtyard Garden.

A range of souvenirs and locally produced gifts are available in the Heritage Centre Gift Shop. A Family Quiz and Puzzle Booklet and Symbol Spot Trail are available for children aged five and over. Collect your free Symbol Spot pack from the Gift Shop with a valid train ticket.
