We’ve been informed that Network Rail are investigating why the automatic train detection systems are not working properly at the level crossings at Marston Road, Lidlington, Green Lane Stewartby, and Kempston Hardwick.
In order to keep trains running as far as Stewartby, Marston Road crossing is closed to road traffic, and Green Lane is being manually operated. The Line will be closed between Stewartby and Bedford until Monday with a rail replacement bus service operating in between. The timetable is below – SDO means Set Down Only.
Members of the Abellio Rail Replacement Team are on duty at Bedford Midland & Ridgmont Station to assist passengers. Ridgmont Station Heritage Centre Tea Room is open 9:00 – 3:00 – Tuesday to Saturday. The Tea Room is unable to accept payments via credit or debit cards.
A full train service will be running from Monday (this may be on a revised timetable). Kempston Hardwick level crossing will then also be closed to road users.
